Marie Byrne

Playwright, articles, and prolific short story writer for American and British magazines and journals, including Modern Weekly, Charm and Home Weekly, and others. Mary Byrne was born in Brockton, Massachusetts 04/10/1886. She trained for the stage at the Leland Powers Theatrical School in Boston. Later teaching acting. In her maiden name Mary (Freeman) Keith she appeared in plays with such actors of the day as Joan Davis and Donald Meek. She gave up acting and settled in England on marrying Dr. Ferdinand Byrne, who had a practise in London, and for a period they lived in India, returning to England.
