Guantánamo 10th anniversary & previous protests

The world was horrified when Guantánamo Bay prison camp was opened on the 11th of January 2002, to see America losing the war against terror so rapidly by becoming the terror, taking America from the previously proud position of much loved and highly respected nation to shamed and dishonoured, thus loosing many of its friends while acquiring many new enemies.
Barack Obama won his election with a promise to close Guantánamo.
On becoming President he made a executive order to close Guantánamo. An order that was however disregarded.
A number of years later but only a few days short of the 10th Anniversary of Guantánamo prison camp, US President Barack Obama signed a bill permitting indefinite detention without trial.
