inuksuk

Inukshuk or inuksuk rock statues stand outside departures at Toronto Pearson International Airport. These three inuksuit, a representation of air marshalling signalling, mark the airport’s activity. Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Inukshuk can act as stone landmarks (cairns) in the Arctic for specific points in the landscape, and help orientate the traveller because above the Arctic Circle, the areas of tundra can have few natural landmarks. Inuksuit is a ancient Inuit tradition and can be a single stone positioned in an upright manner.

PS: I was flying to Seattle and had to disembark at Toronto Airport. Unfortunately not long enough to go into Downtown Toronto, though enough time to go out the airport door. RKW
