Gun control
Tragically, on the 13th of March 1996 sixteen school children and their teacher were shot dead at Dunblane School in Scotland. In response to the public outcry, the Government under the Prime Minister John Major passed the Firearms Acts which outlawed private ownership of most types of handguns in Great Britain. No further school shooting have happened since. Tough gun control works.
