Brian Haw & Police

Brian Haw, shortly before being rearrested. War protesters, Brian Haw, Barbara Tucker, Charity Sweet and Steve Jago were rearrested outside The City of Westminster Magistrates Court, shortly after a case against them had been dismissed. The peace campaigners were having a conversation on Horseferry Road outside the Court, when police who considered they may be having a demonstration arrested them for the new crime of Free Speech called ‘Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005’ that restricts the right to demonstrate within the SOCPA exclusion zone around the Parliament area. The government are thinking about extending the area to include the whole of the UK. Horseferry Road, Westminster, London, UK, 9th July 2007
