Jim Capaldi / Traffic

“Every man must march to the beat of his own drum” ~ Jim Capaldi (1944 - 2005), percussionist and lyricist with the English music group TRAFFIC (Island Records). I was visiting Noel Redding (bass guitarist for the Jimi Hendrix Experience, in Noel’s flat in Fulham Road, when Jim Capaldi with Chris Wood both co-founder band members of the group “Traffic”, dropped in together on a friendly visit to see Noel. Jim Capaldi came across as a very cool guy. Jim Capaldi has been an influential musician but in later years he also became involved in wider issues including poverty and the environment.
