Culver the actor is perhaps best remembered by fans of the Star Wars film saga for playing Captain Needa in The Empire Strikes Back; also he played a major part in, the David Lean film, A Passage to India as the police inspector. He is also known for his theatre stage work and by television viewers for his roles including, Major Erwin Brandt in the BBC drama Secret Army; and he played Prior Robert in the television series, Cadfael.
