Michael Putland

Michael Putland (27 May 1947 - 18 November 2019) photographer adjusting his print of Bob Marley and Peter Tosh with a grinning boyish Mick Jagger nestled between them. Michael Putland is attending the opening of his one-man photographic exhibition “My Generation” at Snap Galleries. Putland’s extensive photographic career from the mid sixties has included photographing classic portraits of many of the major recording artist. His work is widely published and his books include ROLLING STONES Pleased To Meet You, photographs taken by Michael Putland on the 1972 world tour. Putland was based in New York City from 1977 – 1984 and later again in London. He founded the photo agency Retna. Birmingham, UK, 12th February 2005
