Pat Arrowsmith

Pat Arrowsmith, 80 year old CND vice-president and author, is marching in the, bring the Troops Home demonstration, called by Stop the War Coalition, CND and BMI; the peace demonstration marks the eighth anniversary of the Afghanistan invasion. Pat Arrowsmith is a co-founder of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) and organised the first protest in the UK against the nuclear weapons of mass destruction establishment in Aldermaston in 1958. Arrowsmith has served 11 prison sentences because of her campaigning work and made an escape from one prison. Arrowsmith has also been involved in gay issues. Pat Arrowsmith in 1991 was awarded the Americans Removing Injustice, Suppression and Exploitation (ARISE) Peace prize. Hyde Park, London, UK, 24th October 2009
