The time for peace is always now

Man holds paper placard with the words: "The time for peace is always now". The peace campaigner has Downing Street in the background behind him and is joining a gathering outside the Ministry of Defence in support of recently arrested Lance Corporal Joe Glenton and for his right to freedom of speech. Lance Corporal Joe Glenton, who already faces charges of desertion for refusing to return to Afghanistan to what he understands is an illegal war, has been arrested and charged with five further offences for participating in a Stop the War demonstration in London on the 24th October and for expressing what he believes to be right, to the media, in possible defiance of military orders. The campaigner’s placard reads: The time for peace is always now. Whitehall, London, UK, 12 November 2009
