Moazzam Begg director of the charity Cageprisoners and former detainee at Guantánamo, speaking at a Parliamentary meeting in Jubilee Room, House of Commons. He is answering a question about Shaker Aamer who is a prisoner at Guantánamo. Moazzam Begg explains that Shaker Aamer is hugely popular with the other prisoners because of his kindness to them; he is a charismatic character with a strong moral sense of right. Shaker Aamer is affectionately known to the other prisoners as the Professor due to his wisdom. Shaker was in the first group of unfortunate prisoners sent to Guantánamo 8 years ago and he has been harshly treated despite never been charged. Shaker Aamer was cleared for release in 2007.
