Fremont Rocket
Fremont space rocket, sculptural installation formed with a 1950 rocket fuselage, originally displayed at an army surplus store in Belltown, Seattle, that went out of business. It was saved from the scrap yard by a group of concerned Seattle citizens and re-constructed with further military surplus equipment pieces and embellishments. The installation relocated ultimately to this location near the Fremont Sunday market 1994. It has become quite a visitor’s attraction. The area also sports other noteworthy public sculptures.
