Mitra Qayoom
Mitra Qayoom campaigner and writer from Afghans for Peace, with Stop the War Coalition, being interviewed by the press, at a vigil for the sixteen civilians killed, mainly children with their mothers brutally murdered in their homes by a US soldier (or soldiers) in Kandahar Province on Sunday the day before. Members of the Afghan community in Britain are joined by members of the British public in sympathy, mourning and prayer for the victims families and their loved ones. Campaigners appeal to the US and the British Governments to renounce its policy of violence and end its irresponsible, unsuccessful long running occupation of Afghanistan, one since 2001.
