Jimmy Murakami

Jimmy Murakami (1933 - 2014) (Jimmy Teruaki Murakami) American director, animator and designer who has been based for much of his career in both in Dublin and also London. Among his best known works are perhaps the animated adaptations of the Raymond Briggs books "When the Wind Blows" (director 1986) and, "The Snowman" (supervising director 1982); he is co-founder of Murakami-Wolf Films. Murakami was nominated for an Academy Award for Animated Short Film for "The Magic Pear Tree" in 1968.
