A Messerschmidt ME109 pilot could not resist taking a pot shot at Queen Victoria’s statue in a raid on the English south coast in the Second World War. Fortunately, the bullet wound was not fatal, but it has has left a bullet hole in Her Royal Majesty’s robe (lower left hand side about knee high).
