Noel Redding & Neil Landon

Noel Redding (1945 - 2003) with Neil Landon (1941 - 2020). Although Noel Redding was famously bass guitarist in the Jimi Hendrix Experience he was also in another music group at the same time FAT MATTRESS. Noel Redding had formed this group Fat Mattress with other musicians friends from childhood from Folkestone, Kent. Noel Redding is sitting with Neil Landon (born Patrick Cahill) vocalist and co-founder of Fat Mattress, former member of ‘The Flower Pot Men’. London, England, 1969 photograph by Richard Keith Wolff

Extract from 'Interview with Jimi Hendrix a few days earlier.

Hugh Curry: Now that Noel’s producing his own group, does this hint at his splitting from ‘The Experience’ or what?

Jimi Hendrix: Not necessarily, the group itself will probably be together, for a while. But, do not forget each individual person wants to do his own thing too!

Hugh Curry: Yes!

Jimi Hendrix: That doesn’t mean you have to break up the group.

Hugh Curry: Right

Jimi Hendrix: So then he is doing his own thing in the meantime and I’d like to do my own thing in the meantime, so would Mitch.
