Pajé Tchydjo

Tchydjo, an Indigenous Brazilian healer, Medicine Man, from the Kariri Xoco tribe of Alagoas in Northern Brazil, gives a lecture at London University, School of African and Asian Studies. The talk is hosted by Native Spirit Festival and SOAS Students Union. Pajé Tchydjo tribe Kariri Xoco are part of the large Fulni-O group of indigenous tribes who have maintained their cultural traditions in spite of challenges. The Kariri Xoco call themselves “Filhos de Jurema”, sons of a native tree which is used in some of their ceremonies. Tchydjo's talk inspired much interest and respect amongst the students.
