At a peace rally, the placard on the left of the photograph reads: “When Good People Do Nothing Humankind Fails It’s A Genocide”. To the right another placard by a different anti-genocide campaigner displays a sadly tragic photograph of a child in starvation on a hospital drip, with small lettering on its top side that has the telling words: “by-isreal, supported by starmer and labour UK.” On the right-side on a separate placard shows the Palestinian flag printed above the words “Free Palestine / End Israel Occupation”. By chance but ironically in the background is a memorial to “The Women In World War II” that was a time when Britain was fighting for freedom and against genocide. Not like today when under the Prime Minister on an official level the UK is supporting, if not fighting on diametrically the opposite side, for oppression and for potential genocide, of the Palestinian people in Gaza, and the West bank! Although braver, wiser and kinder people, for example at these demonstrations struggle for justice and they are not the only ones. Whitehall, London, Saturday 19 July 2025
